Welcoming the New Year Into Your Business

Happy New Year from the Zest team!

We hope you have enjoyed a well-deserved break over the festive period, and welcome you and your business into the new year. With a fresh start comes new goals, aspirations and a time to reflect on the past year.

Here are our top tips on welcoming the new year into your business…

Appreciating Previous Years’ Achievements

A new year doesn’t mean that the previous one shouldn’t be appreciated, take some time to reflect on your achievements and resolutions from the previous year before setting new goals! Reflect upon the achievements that your employees have gained and send praises where they’re due.

While you reflect on the previous year – boast about it. If you hit a new milestone – share it! If you’ve gained new team members and they have already got a grasp of things in your business – tell them!

Be proud of your last year, regardless of how small or big of an achievement it was.

Setting New Goals

Now that we’ve had time to reflect on the last year, it’s important that you set new goals of what you’d like to do in the following 12 months. These goals can be as small or as large as you wish – tailor them to your company and the areas you wish o see a change in.

There’s nothing wrong with setting some goals which may seem ‘unrealistic’ to others while aiming as high as possible. Those small, simple goals are also a crucial part of your company’s journey, so be sure to include them too.

If these goals are something that requires your whole team – share them and let others chip in with their own affirmations and personal gains they wish to tick off this year!

Assessing Feedback

One of the main points towards development in the new year is assessing feedback you might’ve gained in the last year or asking for feedback that should reflect within the new year.

Feedback is essential to progress and success, without it your team can feel unheard and unsupported while your business may struggle to develop – start off the year with improvements that reflect employee and customer feedback and benefit your company as a whole.

Expanding Business

Expansion isn’t for everyone and by ‘expanding your business’ we don’t always mean that having 1000s of employees is the best way forward – expansion can come in many forms and it may help you hit new milestones in the new year.

Investing more time in your social media presence and expanding your current customer base, introducing new services to fill a gap in the market or hiring a marketing team to help with your outreach are only a few forms of expansion that can drive more success towards your business!

January is a time of reflection on the last year while setting new goals and achievements for the new one – make sure to communicate any goals you’d like to tick off with your employees and leadership team, while praising previous progress!
